Yesterday I had a neat shoot that led to an experience I’ve not had before. I was working on a last-minute assignment for MyMidwest magazine and they needed an illustration for a story on local pizzerias, so I got to turn my kitchen into a photo-studio and have not one, not two, but FIVE pizzas delivered to my house to be photographed!
This “simple” shoot has made for about 7 hours of work–from planning the shoot, setting up the “studio”, shooting the photos, downloading-processing-cropping-and sending lo-res files to my editor, breaking down the studio, and processing-cropping-and sending hi-res files to my editor. Whenever you see photos in magazines, realize how much effort actually goes into each image. Professional photography DOES make a difference and DOES require a lot of effort, equipment, time and experience to get the best images.
Here’s the END RESULT!
