Today’s post is written with the intention of sharing another “Jewel of Milwaukee”, as was done with the post about Tim Cigelske and TeeCycle.
The Boulevard Theatre is small theatre in Bay View. For around 5-6 years now, I have been the photographer of each season’s plays. I think I have missed maybe 1-2 of the shows they’ve put on in that time. What is most impressive about the BLVD, is how they can transform their studio space into such a variety of environments through the simplest of sets–check out the photos and you’ll see what I mean.
Mark Bucher, the founder and artistic director of the BLVD is passionate about the theatre, about life in general and is really a swell guy. He’s funny, willing to take a pie in the face, and is willing to give aspiring actors and actresses a chance to take the stage. The Boulevard takes on challenging productions–everything from Shakespeare and Moliere to new, original scripts from local playwrights like Beth Monhollen and Chad Rossi. If you’re looking to have a challenging, engaging, and entertaining night out on the town, please consider taking in a performance at the Boulevard.
