On Saturday, nine photographers were out in the SE-WI area, making photos in the style of Henri Cartier-Bresson, in celebration of his 101st birthday. On Saturday evening, seven of those photographers, along with Bill Appleby of VP Gallery, came together at Cardinal Stritch University to view the results of everyone’s efforts. Eighty photos were submitted by the photographers, and viewed four times, in order to properly critique and analyze the images.
The first time the images were viewed while listening to music, the second time was without music. The third time, participants were invited to contribute commentary on the images and the fourth time was for people to make final decisions on their “winners”. Each participant was invited to vote for their three favorite images. Of those eighty images, fifteen got votes! With the help of two tie-breakers, the winners were determined.
Robb Quinn’s image of short-order cooks took the most votes; my image from the Bay View Farmers’ Market got second place, and Emily Nie’s photo depicting a flurry of skateboarders took third place! Stay tuned for a link to a gallery showcasing all the submitted photos!
Also shown are some snaps from the event at Cardinal Stritch.
