David Trotman-Wilkins and I had coffee at the Highland Park Pies and Cafe last week. David has been in the world of journalism for many years, as a photographer, a photo-editor, and now as the president of the Chicago Alliance of African-American Photographers. We had a real good time talking about the various ways that photo-journalism has changed over the past years due to the “digital revolution”. David is an excellent resource and someone I’m glad to have gotten to spend some time with. Hopefully David will soon be teaching some photo-classes in the area, as he really has a lot of knowledge to share.
Later that day, I met up with Paul Ruffolo at Stone Creek Coffee to talk about equipping his new photo-studio. Paul’s a talented portrait and wedding photographer who’s looking to offer his clients even more service with the addition of studio space! Paul brings his own perspective to the weddings he shoots and I bet he’s gonna do great things with his studio too!
