Two years ago today, Rachel Lewandowski and I got married, becoming what we already were: Rachel Lewandowski and Troy Freund (no new names for us). We’d already been together for over four years, but it was awful exciting to get married.
We had a lovely warm October day for our celebration. We were surrounded by friends and family. Mark Bucher, of the Boulevard Theatre, said our ceremony. Nick Lewandowski and Mitch Freund both gave short talks on marriage and what you need to succeed. Since we already wore rings, Rachel and I exchanged gifts. I gave her a small wooden carving of a cat sitting on an elephant; she gave me a jewelry box in the shape of a pine-apple.
In general I’m bad at remembering things, and our wedding day was a blur, but I won’t forget how it felt even if I have a hard time remembering particular moments. Rachel was the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen, the setting was significant (it was where we first met), and we had our wedding in a way that felt right to us.
We’ve now been together over six years and I think we are only getting better and better at being together.
Naturally, I took photos at our wedding; I almost walked down the aisle with my Leica M6TTL on my shoulder. Here is a selection of those photos. If I’m in the photo, then it was made by my brother, Kyle.
