For TWENTY-FIVE years, the Boulevard Theatre has been putting on shows in a theatre-space that used to be an adult bookstore. For eight of those years, I’ve been making photographs for the Boulevard Theatre, a small theatre in the Bay View neighborhood. The Boulevard is really a standout because of the opportunities it offers. Besides performing original scripts (some written by WI playwrights!) and provocative productions (The Misanthrope with all the relationships played as gay), the Boulevard is also a place where people who don’t have lots of professional acting experience can develop their skills. Many of the talented people on the Boulevard stage are NOT full-time performers. Most of them have a full-time job, yet manage during the lead-up to a new play, to come in for 3 hours of rehearsal 4-6x a week!
The Boulevard is a theatre that can’t exist without the support of the community. Please consider becoming a subscriber at the Boulevard! It’s a great way to support the performing arts and in turn, support the community!
Here is a LARGE photogallery of images from the past eight years of theatre at the Boulevard Theatre!
