I’m often called on to make portraits and I thought I would share a few these that demonstrate, I think, my ability to handle many different environments and different size groups. Photographing a group can be a challenge in that there are a lot of different personalities to deal with. It can be difficult to keep everyone’s attention focused and engaged. To make a successful group portrait a photographer needs: good pre-shoot-preparation, quick engagement with the subjects, sincerity from the photographer – giving the subjects clear and easy-to-follow directions,- and a commitment to not keep the group for too much time.
Most of these portraits were made in less than 90 minutes, with the actual shoot time being between 5-15 minutes.
