Here’s a few snap-shots from a rally that happened at Cathedral Square in downtown Milwaukee this afternoon. Senator Russ Feingold made an appearance to support Tom Barrett as candidate for governor and Mahlon Mitchell for lieutenant governor. The rally didn’t last long – two short talks from Feingold and Mahlon and then everyone was invited to walk over to the municipal building and vote, which I did!
There was a good variety of people at the rally – different ages and ethnicities all representing. I saw five other people I knew!
Both Feingold and Mitchell emphasized that this recall DIDN’T have to happen, but Scott Walker, through his divisive approach, his right-wing policies, and his constant give-aways to donors caused the recall to happen.
Mitchell emphasized what a Barrett-Mitchell leadership could bring back to WI – collaboration, stewardship of the environment, respect to the constituents, and responsible creation of jobs.
I can’t wait for our new governor and lieutenant governor to take office!
