This post is over-due, but better late than never, right? 🙂
The June MKE Creatives meetup featured a presentation from Beth Handle, of the Milwaukee Kayak Co. I have written about MKC before, as I’m quite a fan of the company – Beth rents out kayaks in the Third Ward, for people to take them out on the MKE River and explore downtown from a very different perspective – right on the water!
She talked with us about her company, sharing her passion for the river with us all. It’s apparent that company serves a lot purposes for her – she gets to share her love of the outdoors (while in an urban environment), she gets to see other people experience the magic of seeing the city from a river-level, she gets the flexibility of running her own business which allows her to also volunteer much time and effort with Local First Milwaukee.
As always, those in attendance were a varied and friendly group. There were designers, writers, editors, marketers, stock-imagery agents, photographers, videographers, and at the end of Beth’s presentation – a lot of wanna-be kayakers!
