In October, MKE Comicbook had its 3rd annual “Cull Your Collection Sale” to benefit the ComicBook Legal Defense Fund. Everyone brought what comics they wanted to clear from their collections, selling them for a mere $.20/issue or $4/trade. This year we raised $186.50 for the CBLDF! As has become a fun tradition, too, the night ended with a fun trivia contest put together by Don, including categories of “name that comicbook title (by seeing just a portion of its cover)”, “name that creator (showing photos of various comicbook writers and artists)”, and “ALIAS (in anticipation of the Netflix series)”.
I feel real fortunate to be a part of this monthly meetup – the people I’ve gotten to know – they’re dang nice and I look forward to this evening every month. Also, this meetup wouldn’t be as swell as it is, if it wasn’t for Anodyne Coffee letting us use their “laboratory” every month!
